A 48-year-old man was sent to the hospital with minor injuries Tuesday evening after hitting three horses in nearby Rock County. Authorities said the three horses were standing in the roadway. Two of the horses died at the scene, and the third was euthanized by a local veterinarian.

Police say alcohol and speed were not suspected as factors in this accident. No charges or citations were issued as of early Wednesday morning.
