Pedestrian killed in accident

A Milwaukee pedestrian was killed Friday evening in a fatal accident at the intersection of Fond du Lac Avenue and Locust Street, authorities said. The 40-year-old man stepped off the curb into traffic, police said. A passing car hit him, authorities said, and the vehicle stopped immediately.

The man sustained severe head and internal injuries in the accident, police said. He was taken to the hospital and died there, authorities said.
