Waukesha cyclist killed

On the morning of June 20, a 42-year-old Waukesha cyclist was killed when he was hit from behind by a motorist on Highway 18. Both cyclist and motorist were traveling eastbound on Highway 18 in the Town of Summit, Wisconsin, just one-half mile east of Highway 67.

Cyclist and father of 3 was passing through Summit on one of his regular morning training routes when the accident occurred. According to reports, the motorist was a a 20-year-old from Dousman.

To honor the deceased, tour organizers have planned a moment of silence before the ISCorp Downer Classic on Saturday. His death is the second cyclist death in Wisconsin thus far this year.
