Man charged with three counts of vehicular homicide for death of his wife

Twenty-eight-year-old Holmen, Wisconsin resident Hunter Lynel Scott has been charged with three counts of vehicular homicide for the negligent death of his wife, according to postbulletin.com.

On December 20, 2014, authorities responded to a single vehicle rollover accident that occurred on Fillmore County Road 11 in Pilot Mound Township. The car reportedly “failed to negotiate a curve,” sending the vehicle airborne for 60 feet before landing in a ditch. Hunter Scott admitted to drinking earlier that day and registered a 0.15 during an initial breathalyzer test. Both parties were taken to a local hospital. His wife, Laura Scott, died from her injuries en route. He was determined to have acted negligently due to the speed he was driving in icy weather conditions and driving while drunk. He faces ten years in prison and $20,000 in fines if convicted.
