The accident happened when a Chevy Suburban, driven by the suspect, ran through a stop signed and crashed into an SUV.  The SUV’s driver, 44, suffered serious injuries from the accident and was transported to Waukesha Memorial Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.  Two of the SUV’s passengers survived the accident uninjured.  6-year old Treyton Kilar of Whitewater was killed in the accident.

Police believe the suspect could also be the driver involved in a hit-and-run accident in Lafayette just before the accident in Troy.

According to Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department deputies, the man’s truck rolled over as he was driving along the 12200 block of 204th Avenue (Highway B) in Salem. He then struck a utility pole, which snapped in half and fell onto the truck.

The case has since been handed to the Lake County Sheriff’s department, as it occurred just over state lines.

Authorities do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash, although investigation is ongoing.

According to officials with the Wisconsin State Patrol, a 31 year-old motorcyclist was traveling west on Interstate 94 in Waukesha County shortly after 5:00 p.m. when a yellow SUV braked suddenly and crossed in font of a Lexus SUV to make an illegal U-turn. Police say the 43 year-old Fitchburg man driving the Lexus stopped suddenly to avoid the SUV.

A statement released by the State Patrol said two motorcyclists were traveling behind the Lexus and attempted to maneuver around the vehicle to avoid a crash. The first motorcyclist was able to steer clear of the SUV, but the second biker collided with its left-rear quarter.

The motorcyclist’s name was withheld by police. The man was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators into the accident say that 31-year old Lucia Torres Bisarraga was traveling south on Highway 41 when she drifted out of her lane, into the shoulder, and hit Van Handel.  Bisarraga told police officers that she lost control because another vehicle swerved into her lane.  However, no witnesses said anything about another vehicle.  Bisarraga is being charged for driving without a license resulting in death and failure to keep the vehicle under control.

According to WSAU, “The Langlade County sheriff’s department says a Honda CR-V hit Wissbroecker…The driver, a white man in his 30s who is about 6-feet tall with brown hair, drove off.”

Reported just after 3:30 in the afternoon, the incident occurred at the intersection of State Highway 74 and Lindsay Road in Pewaukee, Wis. A 79 year-old woman and 83 year-old man were traveling in a van, going west on Lindsay Road, when they were struck by a southbound delivery truck, which was driven by a 53 year-old man. The force of the collision drove the vehicles into a 20 year-old man’s car stopped at the intersection. He was waiting in the southbound lane of Highway 74.

According to the police reports, the 83 year-old man, driver of the truck, and driver of the car were all taken to nearby hospitals, while the accident claimed the life of the 79 year-old woman. No reports were issued on the level of injuries sustained by the other people involved in the truck accident.

The police stated that the reckless driver ran a red light, missed hitting another car, and then rammed into a pillar outside the hospital. The identity of the driver is known, and he, a 23 year-old male, is currently wanted by the Milwaukee police. He suffered minor injuries, but fled after the incident. There was no comment as to if the driver was intoxicated or driving at dangerously high speeds.

The police report additionally included that the children involved in the crash were in car seats, but those seats were not properly connected to the car.

Several people blame the school district for not providing safer routes, since there is no sidewalk near the school, and students must walk on the road or in the ditch to get to school. The school is also considering placing a crossing guard near the campus to prevent another pedestrian accident.
