The firm will be testing the viability of the system over the next year. Personal injury attorney Donald H. Slavik noted that Habush Habush & Rottier must first ascertain that the system is both secure and easy for attorneys and clients to use. The firm wants to be certain that there will be no breaches of attorney-client privilege.
“We’re a contingent fee-based firm and productivity is of vital importance,” he said. “A system has to be attorney-proof in the sense that it should prevent any mistakes and breaches of confidentiality automatically.” Read the full article.
Habush Habush & Rottier Leads Way on Toyota Lawsuit
November 2, 2009
Toyota Motors recently issued a recall on about 3.8 million Toyota and Lexus vehicles due to sudden and unexplained acceleration accidents. The recall was spurred by a crash in August which killed the four people riding in a Lexus ES 350 in San Diego.
However, several plaintiff’s law firms, including Habush Habush & Rottier, allege that the problem is a much more deep-seated. According to Donald H. Slavik, an engineer and lawyer at the firm, tests indicate that the problem is not a simple one of the throttle being caught in floor mats, but is due in part to an electronic throttle control problem. While some floor mats are indeed causing problems, they say, this is masking the more serious problem caused by the electronic throttle.
Although more tests need to be done before these issues are confirmed, Habush Habush & Rottier is investigating the ultimate cause of these crashes. Read the full article.
