East Troy man suspected of drunk driving in accident

A two-car accident occurred late last night in Troy, leaving a young boy dead and the driver seriously injured.  Walworth County police arrested an East Troy man under suspicion of drunk driving and causing the accident, as well as another one earlier last night.

The accident happened when a Chevy Suburban, driven by the suspect, ran through a stop signed and crashed into an SUV.  The SUV’s driver, 44, suffered serious injuries from the accident and was transported to Waukesha Memorial Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.  Two of the SUV’s passengers survived the accident uninjured.  6-year old Treyton Kilar of Whitewater was killed in the accident.

Police believe the suspect could also be the driver involved in a hit-and-run accident in Lafayette just before the accident in Troy.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Treyton’s family and friends.
