Excessive speed believed to be cause of fatal crash

A deadly two-vehicle crash that killed 3 people on October 5 was caused by excessive speed, police say.

The victims, Michael Mueller and Wayne and Carolyn Gregory, were all killed when their vehicles collided head-on on Highway 26 near the town of Nekimi.

Reconstruction experts say that Mueller was traveling at excessive speeds on the highway when he crossed the center line and collided with the Gregory car. All 3 victims died from multiple trauma caused by the impact.
