Half-foot of snow causes 350 accidents in Milwaukee area

Officials reported more than 350 accidents on Milwaukee roads on Monday morning in response to the snow falling heavily and steadily throughout the day. Throughout southeast Wisconsin, there were reports of up to 6 inches of snow. By the middle of the afternoon, the city of Madison declared a snow emergency.

One person was killed and another was injured when a semi-truck slid off of a bridge on westbound I-90/94 around 8:30 a.m. in Milwaukee. No other serious snow-related injuries were reported, although police say that some people involved in accidents suffered from minor injuries. Most of the accidents were cars that slid off of snowy roadways or icy spinouts.
