May is National Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month

May has been declared National Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation is encouraging motorcycle riders to practice safe riding habits.

It was found that 100 motorcyclists die each year in Wisconsin. Some of these deaths may have been prevented if helmets had been used. Helmets have been found to save 37 percent of motorcyclists’ lives when they are involved in a crash.

A focus has also been placed on motorcyclists practicing defensive driving. Motorcyclists can often be in the blind spots of other drivers, so it is important that motorcyclists always watch out for the drivers around them.

Motorcycle safety is an important issue that should be focused throughout the year. If you or someone you love has been injured in a motorcycle accident, please contact the Waukesha car accident lawyers of Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. at 800-242-2874.
