Deer-related car accidents decrease

A new study out by State Farm Insurance shows that car-deer accidents are declining. In Wisconsin, there has been a 1% decrease compared to last year. Still, September saw nearly forty deer-related collisions.

Drivers in Wisconsin have a one in 97 chance of striking a deer, a chance that has put Wisconsin in the seventh spot for most-risky state to hit a deer. West Virginia ranks number one with a one in 53 chance.

Fall months see the highest car-deer accidents of the year since it is the season when deers start to mate and migrate. November is the most dangerous month for deer-related crashes, followed by October.
