Wisconsin politician arrested for DUI

A former Wisconsin state senator was arrested over the weekend for driving under the influence of alcohol. Republican Randy Hopper, who represented Fond du Lac County from 2009-2011,  recently lost his senate seat to Democrat Jessica King.

Police pulled over Hopper’s black Suburban early Sunday night after another driver called 911 to report his erratic driving on Highway 151. He refused to take a breath test at the scene and later failed administered field sobriety tests. The former politician was taken to the county jail where he failed a preliminary breath test.

Hopper’s 26 year-old mistress was a passenger at the time of his arrest. This is his first drunk driving offense and could potentially be fined and have his license revoked.
