Chrysler announces recall of police cruisers

Chrysler Group, LLC is recalling nearly 10,000 2011-2012 Dodge Charger models made for law enforcement use.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, overheating problems could cause problems in the vehicles’ low beam headlights and anti-lock breaks. Overheating in the bulb harness connector could lead to problems in the headlights, and overheating in the power distribution module could cause the anti-lock breaks and electronic stability control to lose function.

Chrysler will replace the headlamp jumper harnesses and move the anti-lock break and electronic stability control fuse to fix the problem. All repairs will be made free of charge starting next month.
