Drunk driver admits to killing motorcyclist

An Illinois man pleaded guilty this week to fatally hitting a motorcyclist while he was driving under the influence. He has been charged with aggravated DUI resulting in death and two counts of aggravated DUI.

The deadly accident occurred last July, the Lake County Sun-Times reports. Authorities say the man had been watching a soccer game and was leaving the field when he hit a 56 year-old Lake Geneva motorcyclist.

Officers found several empty cans of beer and a bottle of tequila in his car. A breathalyzer test revealed his blood alcohol level to be more than three times over the legal limit. If convicted he could spend a maximum of 26 years in prison.
