Waukesha train hits 40-year-old woman

At around 12:40 p.m. on Monday, August 5, emergency medical personnel responded to the scene of an accident near Frame Park at the intersection of Whiterock Avenue and Perkins Street where a 40-year-old unidentified woman had been hit by a train.

She was brought to the Froedtert Hospital by Flight for Life, where she was listed under serious condition.

Witness Jim Edlhuber, who was taking photos in the park near the railroad tracks, said he couldn’t believe “somebody actually got hit by a train right by where I was standing.”

According to WISN 12 News, they were told by Waukesha city officials that since the stretch of railroad tracks is considered a quiet zone and trains are not in the habit of sounding their horns whenever crossing these tracks.
