One dead, one critically injured in Eau Claire crash

The Eau Claire Police Department stated that one man died and one was in critical condition as a result of being involved in a truck accident at the intersection of North Hastings Way/Business 53 and Melby Street on Friday, August 16 at around 2:30 a.m.

Twenty-two-year-old driver Brady Wolfe and his passenger, 19-year-old Caston Arnold had both been in critical condition as of Friday, but according to Eau Claire police, Arnold died due to his injuries on Monday, August 19.

According to the police, Wolfe, who was driving the car, failed to stop at a red light on his way north towards Business 53. As a result, his car went under the trailer part of a semi heading south on Business 53, which had the right of way to turn left onto Melby Street. The driver of the semi was not affected by the accident.
