Manitowoc man arrested in hit and run accident

Fifty-six-year-old Manitowoc, Wisconsin resident Steven Gove was the victim of a hit-and-run accident at the intersection of Marshall and South 16th Streets, earlier this month on Saturday, January 18.

According to Gove, he was heading home after a day of delivering 275 Lakeshore Chronicles when a car hit him, causing him to go through the vehicle’s windshield.

Local police authorities were able to take a 20-year-old Manitowoc man into custody suspected of being the driver in the crash. He was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol, causing him to hit Gove and his three-wheeled bike even though Gove was “wearing [his] blue overcoat with neon reflective vest” and he had his front and rear flashers on.

Gove said he is planning to file charges against the suspect, saying he has been suffering from a headache ever since the incident.
