Two-vehicle collision claims life of 62-year-old woman

A 62-year-old woman perished in a two-vehicle accident during the early hours before 7 a.m. on December 11, the Green Bay Press Gazette reported.

The accident took place in the town of Franklin at the intersection of Kewaunee County Q and KB, a report from the Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department showed. According to preliminary investigations, a northbound red 2003 Toyota truck that was operated by a 58-year-old Two Rivers man initially stopped at a stop sign but for some reason pulled into the path of a westbound Chevrolet truck operated by a 23-year-old Kewaunee man. The impact threw both vehicles into a ditch over the northwest side of the intersection.

The woman, who had been a passenger within the Toyota truck, succumbed to mortal injuries at a Green Bay hospital. The driver of the Toyota was also brought to the hospital, but the condition of this person was not reported.

The driver of the Chevrolet truck sustained a minor hand injury. Police do not believe alcohol played a part in the accident.
