Caledonia elderly couple who died outside church remembered

Members of the St. Louis Catholic Church in Caledonia, Wisconsin mourned the loss 83-year-old Oscar and Vernetta Lang, who were both long-time parishioners of the church. Both perished when they were hit by a car while trying to cross to the next road where their vehicle was parked across from the church on Saturday, January 24.

One parishioner remarked, “It’s just so sad to hear this. Its kind of devastating to our parish.”

Police investigators told CBS 58 that alcohol had not been a factor in the accident, and that the driver involved was giving full cooperation to the investigation of the matter.

Father Mark Danczyk said the Langs were kind and God-fearing people, and that “they truly loved each other and you could really sense that”. The Attorneys of Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. offer their deepest sympathies to friends and family of the couple.
