Ford Motor issues four vehicular recalls

Ford issued four recalls covering around 591,000 vehicles in North America, Automotive News reported on April 29.

The first of the four recalls covered 518,313 vehicles, including the 2015 Edge and the 2013-2015 Fusion and Lincoln MKZ. This recall was enacted only in northern states where roads and highways are sometimes covered in road salt, which can corrode the bolts attached to the steering gear motor on the vehicle.

One recall included 91 of the 2015 F-150s, which may have an underbody heat shield that is improperly installed or missing altogether, potentially creating a fire hazard.

Another recall involved 50,157 cars, including the 2014 Transit Connect, Focus, Edge, and Escape and the 2014-2015 Fiesta, due to a defective fuel pump that may cause a vehicle to stall while in motion or fail to start.

Finally, 22,616 MKZs from the 2015 model year were recalled due to park lights that exceed vehicle regulations, potentially blinding other drivers.
