Minnesota teen dies in western Wisconsin rollover accident

One teen was killed and two others injured in an Eau Claire single-vehicle rollover accident on July 3, according to BMTN.

Plymouth resident 16-year-old Kevin Messer died in the accident, while 15-year-old Leo Schreiner and 16-year-old Robbinsdale local Hanna Sedqi were injured, according to a report by the Star Tribune. The extent of Schreiner and Sedqi’s injuries were not reported, although both were brought to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The three minors were inside a Chevrolet Cobalt that was headed east along Interstate 94 when it veered off the shoulder of the road, FOX 9 reported. In her effort to regain control of the car, Sedqi over-corrected, and the car flipped over, eventually landing on the median.

The crash continues to be investigated, although police do not believe that alcohol was a factor. All three individuals involved in the accident were wearing their seat belts.
