Two individuals lost their lives while three others were injured in a two-vehicular accident that happened at an intersection in the town of Union on Saturday, August 1.

According to preliminary investigations made by the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, a Dodge Charger did not stop at a stop sign and was consequently hit by a Dodge Avenger while passing through an intersection. According to reports, the stop sign was obscured by foliage.

53-year-old Madison resident Kay Ellen Coleman, the driver of the Charger, and her passenger, 46-year-old Evansville resident Michael Crotty, were declared dead at the scene of the accident by the Rock County Medical Examiner’s Office. The woman’s 60-year-old husband was brought to a local area hospital to receive medical attention for his non-life-threatening injuries.

The 24-year-old woman who was driving the Avenger at the time of the accident and her four-year-old daughter were also taken to the hospital to receive treatment for their minor injuries.
