New Berlin mother petitions for change after son is hit by car

14-year-old New Berlin, Wisconsin resident, Charles Bray, suffered a head injury after being hit by a car while crossing the street on his bike near the intersection of Moorland and Mayflower. His mother, Bo Bandow, is petitioning for change, such as installing push-buttons and crosswalks at busy intersections where students cross daily.

Bray was riding his bicycle when he was hit by a DHL truck. The impact of the crash sent him flying in the air, police officers said. After seeing the dashcam video of the accident, his mother responded, saying, “to see his body get thrown that far away from the car, that is very difficult to watch”.
