Neenah man and boy die in Fond du Lac three-vehicle collision

A three-vehicle collision that occurred around 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22 resulted in the death of two people. The accident occurred between Military Road and West Johnson Street in the northbound lanes of I-41 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

The accident also injured three people and closed the northbound lanes of I-41 for several hours. According to preliminary investigations made by the Wisconsin State Patrol, a 23-year-old Neenah driver slowed to a stop in her Chevrolet behind a semi-tractor trailer in front of her. Her vehicle was subsequently rear-ended by a Jeep operated by a 32-year-old North Fond du Lac man. The impact caused the Chevrolet to move forward and crash into the semi-tractor trailer.

A 35-year-old Eldorado man, who was a passenger in the Jeep, had to be airlifted to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah for treatment of his severe injuries. Meanwhile, the drivers of the Chevrolet and the Jeep were taken to St. Agnes Hospital for the treatment of their minor wounds.

A 26-year-old man and an eight-year-old boy, both passengers in the Chevrolet, were declared dead at the scene of the accident.
